Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District has a requirement to obtain, for approximately 20-25 parcels of land in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, preliminary title evidence (commitments of binders) based upon a preliminary title search and which commit the title company to issue a final ALTA U.S. policy-9/28/91. The provider of the preliminary title evidence and final title insurance must be on the Department of Justice "List of Approved Attorneys, Abstractors and Title Companies". The preliminary title eivdence will be required within thirty days (one month) of the date of the contract award. The Government may require updates of this preliminary title evidence prior to asking for final title insurance. Final title insurance will be required after preliminary title evidence has been ordered and a conveyance to the United States has occurred. The title evidence must conform to the requirements of ENG Form 1016. Estimated cost of the work is between $25,000 and $100,000. The Scope of Work will be available at no cost on or about 05/24/01.
