- Description
- Sources Sought Announcement Synopsis for: Plate-Positioning, Turbine Stator, 2 Stage, Drawing 747651 This is a short leadtime, and possibly a one-time requirement, for 20 parts with two 1st Articles. The supplier of this "flight-critical" item must be ISO 9000 or equivalent certified and be able to show a successful history (reference) of past performance with this type of aircraft component. Certification documents will be required for all processes, including the forging, heat treat, machining, and quality assurance (dimensionals). The material is in accordance with AMS 5671 (Inconel X750) forging and heat treated and tested in accordance with AMS 5668 (Hardness: C 27 minimum). The configuration is a "ring-shaped" part, 29.275 inch outside diameter, 27.423 inch inside diameter, and .450 inch thick. The part has 90 holes .300 diameter equally spaced around the ring. Besides the outside and inside diameters, there are four other diameters and two angled features. There are also 90 serrations equally spaced around the outside and 94 slots with .020 radius fillets equally spaced around the inside configuration. For geometric requirements, the part can be restrained on primary datums to verify all dimensions. In a free state, the part must be flat within .015 total and round within .050. All diameters have a "true-position" requirement of .005 "regardless-of-feature-size" to the primary datums. There will be two 1st articles required. 1st Article testing will consist of an evaluation and analysis of the documentation. There will also be metallurgical testing and dimensional verification. The delivery, for both the 1st Article and the production lot, will be a critical factor in the award of contract. After review of this synopsis, if qualified and interested, you can contact Bob Blair via e-mail at rblair@kpt.nuwc.navy.mil.
