Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a sole source contract to Sargent Controls & Aerospace of Tucson, AZ for replacement parts used in the OK 276 and OA 9070 hydraulic systems. The required parts consist of Housing Assemblies, Stage Housing, Plugs, Adapters, Push Rods, Body, Nuts, Screws, Retainers, Terminal Boards, Pistons, End Caps, Spring Guides, Plungers, Cover, Ferrules, and Transducers. These parts are very temperamental when exposed to hydraulic oil contamination and susceptible to corrosion when exposed to seawater, the environment in which these hydraulic systems must perform. This procurement is limited to Sargent Aerospace & Controls, the Original Equipment Manufacturer. The Navy does not own any drawings for these parts. These items are designed to maximize valve performance and minimize undesirable leakage. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP procedures as set forth in FAR Part 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 2001 May 25 will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. As this requirement will be solicited orally, a solicitation package does not exist. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
