NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 28, 2001 Crown Plaza, Warwick-Providence, RI Small businesses, small disadvantaged and women and minority-owned businesses have the opportunity to meet and network with federal and state agencies and major purchasers at the BizConnections/New England, a Procurement Conference for Small Business. It will take place June 28th at the Crown Plaza in Warwick, RI. Federal, state and civilian agencies will provide training and purchasing opportunities for small business owners. This cooperative effort is designed to provide small businesses with the tools and opportunities to do business with a multitude of government agencies and large purchasers. The sponsoring agency is the US Navy, Engineering Field Activity, Northeast, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The one-day format includes a trade show with exhibiting companies and agencies and seminars and workshop training designed for small businesses. The conference is designed to meet with and provide a greater number of small businesses, women-owned small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, HubZone small business and veteran-owned small businesses with the tools and "connections" to grow their business opportunities with the federal government. One session has been specifically designed for women-owned businesses.
