- Description
- Construct one new taxiway (Taxiway Yankee), removal and replacement of pavement for one taxiway (Taxiway Lima) to include base course stone in taxiway sections as shown on the plans, and overlay one taxiway (Taxiway North Hotel). Work includes new pavement markings, installation of flushed mounted edge and exit lights for all three taxiways, two new directional/holding signs, modifications to existing directional/holding signs, installing new wiring in an existing underground conduit from the airfield lighting vault (Building 1611) to the three taxiways and a installing new constant current regulator in Building 1611. Demolition includes pavement and base course stone removal and removal of two existing parking area edge lights where Taxiway Yankee will be located. Work shall be phased so that National Guard aircraft have access to the runways from the parking area via either Lima or Hotel taxiways at all times. Contractor shall work in such a manner so as not to interfere with or create a hazard to aircraft in transit between the runway and the parking area. First phase of work is the construction of Taxiway Yankee and the overlay of Taxiway North Hotel. Work shall not begin on Lima Taxiway until Yankee and North Hotel are fully operational. Edge and exit lights for Taxiway Yankee will be included as a bid option. Solicitation documents will be furnished on CD-ROM only on or about June 7, 2001; hard copies will not be available. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: at https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after issue date of the solicitation; however the official media of distribution for this solicitation is the CD-ROM". One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each bidder at no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM must be made by registering on the Internet. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. If any information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving the solicitation and amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will be opened on or about July 10, 2001 at 11:00 am. This procurement is unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 234110 with a size standard of $27.5 million. The estimated range of the project is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 (Including Options). Liquidated damages will be specified and Davis Bacon rates are applicable to this procurement. Bonding and insurance are required. This procurement is advertised as unrestricted and is subject to the availability of funds. Affirmative Action to ensure equal opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. All contractors must be registered in the DoDs Central Contract Register before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. Instructions will be included in the Solicitation.
