Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items (hermetically sealed caribou satellite tramsitter collars) prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued in accordance with Note 22. 701811Q030, this request for quote and the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-24. The following hermetically sealed caribou satellite transmitters with collars specifications are as follows. 1. Collars and transmitters must be compatible with the Argos Series of orbiting satellites, and will be used in subarctic conditions. All electronic components must be completely enclosed in corrosion-resistant, hermetically sealed metal housing. All external antenna connections must be constructed of military approved glass to metal feed throughs or equivalent. Collars must be constructed as to maintain pliability and flexibility in wide ambient temperature ranges. Software must provide location and activity data and must support multiple duty cycles to conserve battery life. Must have a minimum operational life of 5 years. Maximum assembly weight 1 kilogram, 2 D cells on CLMS collar. Frequencies will be given to winning vendor. Quantity needed of these caribou collar satellite transmitters will be 17 each. A completed copy of 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items must be included with the offer.
