Description

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego intends to negotiate a sole source, completion type contract with Legnos Boat Industries (LBI), Inc., 973 North Road, Groton, CT 06340. The contract will provide revised drawing specifications for and the fabrication of seventy (70) Manta exploitable exercise and training (E&T) mine shapes, thirty (30) Rockan E&T mine shapes and twenty (20) sensing mechanism/firing device replicas for the Manta mine shapes. The performance period will be up to seven months after contract award. LBI has previously fabricated Manta and Rockan mines for the Navy and the mines have successfully undergone acoustic compliance testing on an acoustic test range. No further acoustic testing of LBI-fabricated mines is necessary. The sole source solicitation will be posted at the SPAWAR E-Commerce Central (https://e-commerce.spawar.navy.mil) on or about 29 May 2001. Hard copy versions of the solicitation will not be available. See CBD Note 22.
