- Description
- This announcement replaces an earlier announcement for the same solicitation. The changes are the reduction on the required horsepower, and the addition of option years. Three vessels required to conduct debris survey and removal at Kure and Pearl and Hermes Atoll, and Lisianski Island for the periods of August 1, 2001 to November 15, 2001. Options for performance beginning in late March and continuing through October in 2002 and 2003. Proposals may offer one or more vessels. Departure and arrival locations will be Honolulu, Hawaii. Vessels shall: be at least 70 feet long with a minimum horsepower output from the main engine of 350; be able to crane haul aboard 3000 lbs of marine debris within a 24 hour period; be able to maintain a minimum cruising speed of at least 8 nm/hr in low sea states, be able to operate continuously for 30 days before needing fuel or fresh water; have sufficient deck space to store at least 6000 lbs of marine debris; have at least 50 sq ft of clean minimally-exposed deck space available for storage and operation of air compressor and SCUBA tanks; have a dry storage area of at least 150 cu. ft. in the main house; have chart table and office space available for scientific crew, have accommodations for vessel crew and a 5-7 member scientific field party; have deck space for storage of 2 small boats, 17-20 feet in length, 2000 lbs each; and be equipped with a minimum of one captain, one engineer, and two deckhands/cooks.
