Description
The Broadcasting Board of Governors, International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB) located in Washington, D.C. has an anticipated requirement, subject to the availability of Congressionally appropriated funding for this intended purpose, for the design review, fabrication, shipping, installation and testing of a 600 kW multi-tower medium wave (MW) broadcast antenna system for installation in the country of Cyprus. The antenna shall meet the ISO 9000 standard. The Requirement includes the: (1) design review; (2) fabrication; (3) operations & maintenance manuals; (4)optional spares; (5) packing for overseas shipment; (6) installation; and (7) testing. Please note that due to the importance given to this requirement, preference will be given to the firm who can fabricate, deliver, install, test and commission the antenna in sufficient time to meet the anticipated target operational date of January 15, 2002. To be considered, interested firms shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of documented and verifiable experience in the design and manufacture of MW broadcast antennas; five (5) years of experience in the design and manufacture of high power (500 kW+) MW broadcast antennas; and who will offer equipment that has been in commercial service at least one (1) year. Experience shall be at the same, or directly transferrable to, the output power levels as those being procured herein; and may be in the commercial market. The BBG/IBB intends to issue a request for proposal (RFP) solicitation document for this negotiated firm-fixed-price procurement on or about June 1, 2001 with a proposal response due date of thirty (30) calendar days after the RFP issuance date. Interested offerors may request a copy of the forthcoming solicitation by submitting a written request to the BBG/IBB Contracting Officer at the above-listed address. All written requests for a copy of the intended RFP shall include the above noted solicitation number, your company name, mailing address, point of contact, telephone number and facsimile number. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response to the forthcoming solicitation document, and all proposals shall be considered by the Agency. This notice is not a RFP, IFB, or RFQ.
