Description
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for engineering support for the research, analysis, evaluation, design and development of a Micro-Elctro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) valve for space flight application. The valve will function as part of MEMS High Test Hydrogen Peroxide (HTP) thruster. The vendor must have experience in developing MEMS type valves and/or systems, must have experience in developing valves compatible with long term HTP use, have experience in developing space-flight qualified valves for spacecraft propulsion applications, and have expertise in techniques which enable bonding of transition materials to silicon-based MEMS devices. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334513 and 500, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DOC9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 574-25753-912 is on/or about 6/01/2001 with an anticipated quote due date of on/or about 6/22/2001. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
