Description

The Department of Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7, Alaska is seeking comprehensive proposals to develop and evaluate alternative analytic approaches for determining rural and non-rural status for Alaskan communities in implementing the Federal rural subsistence priority in Alaska. The main objective of this solicitation is to obtain professional scientific services to design, test and recommend a methodology for the analysis of Census 2000 data and other databases to determine rural or non-rural status, and not to actually use, insert and test the Census 2000 data. Comprehensive proposals shall provide the following: (1) Identification and description of at least two methodologies to analyze Alaskan communities; (2) Test of the methodologies on a selected set of Alaskan communities to determine effectiveness and efficiency; and (3) Identification of proponent's preferred or recommended methodology. The Period of Performance will be from Date of Award for 8 (eight) months. The Unrestricted solicitation will be issued on or about June 6, 2001.
