Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, MD is seeking test samples and information from potential sources for a Water Activated Strobe Light to be used by USN / USMC aircrew. The purpose of this request is to obtain samples and information to establish a list of USN / USMC approved items for possible future procurement. Inclusion on this list in no way guarantees any future procurement. Samples of the Water Activated Strobe Lights shall conform to the commercial item description requirements of A-A-59176, Marker Light, Personal Distress. In addition, the strobe light shall also have the capability of being water activated, and it shall be light sensitive (automatically turn off during daylight and turn on at night.). The Strobe light shall be capable of cycling "off-on" four times after initial activation (without reactivation by water). The specifications/commercial item description for the Market Light, Personal Distress can be found at the NAVAIR Website home page, located at: http://www.navair.navy.mil/business/ecommerce/index.cfm . Companies responding to this request should submit two samples, (samples will be used for tests and evaluation and will not be returned), documentation detailing the Water Activated Strobe Light's specifications, and ordering information including an estimated cost per Strobe Light to Ms. Melisha Proctor, NAWCAD Code 251328, Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, NAVAIRSYSCOMHQ, Bldg. 441, 21983 Bundy Road, Unit 7, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1127. Responses should be submitted by 30 July 2001 and reference this synopsis number on both the packages as well as on all enclosed documents. Respondents must clarify if their firm can provide commercial or non-developmental items that could be modified to meet NAWCAD's needs.
