Description

The Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB CA (AFFTC) is = seeking sources for contractor support to supplement in-house = capability of Fabrication of Sheet metal placards from electronic = AutoCad drawing data. Drawing details of placards (mental with = graphics and/or text on them) will include the appearance artwork, and = full details for placard outline and hole patterns. Outside of the = artwork, the placard will be fabricated just like any other sheet metal = item in accordance with commercial practices. The metal photo method = of manufacture is preferred, but would explore alternative technologies = if cost effective. Black background with contrasting lettering is a = general requirement, but may require black lettering on various = background finishes such as that offered by Metal Photo/Horizon = products (red, yellow, orange, green ? are common). Placards range in = size from 1? X 1? to 12? X 36?. Thickness of materials range from = 0.0003 to 0.125 inches. Estimate 50 designs and 500 placards a year. = Placards should be surface hardened in order to resist scratching and = dings. Additional sheet metal fabrication may be required, such as = bending, painting and assembly of various sheet metal components.
