- SUBJECT: The proposed contract action is for purchasing lunches = for the School-Age Summer Camp Program, Randolph AFB TX from 29 May = 01 through 20 Aug 01 for 244 children and adults, REF #:F7SPT211080100. = POC: Ms. Priscilla E. Marsilio, Contract Specialist, (210) 652-5180 = ext. 3056, e-mail priscilla.marsilio@randolph.af.mil. Collect calls = will not be accepted. Two-hundred fifty (250) lunches are to be = prepared on a daily basis. The Government intends to solicit and = negotiate with the Enlisted Club, Randolph AFB TX, under the authority = of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive = proposals. However, all proposals received within 24 hours after the = date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the = Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this = proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within = the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally = be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct = a competitive procurement. Effective 1 Jun 98, contractors must be = registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to = receiving any contract award. The School-Age summer camp program is a = full-day child care program, offering care for up to 10 hours daily for = each child enrolled. This program is part of the Air Force overall = child development program, but is operated by the Youth Program, not as = a sub-activity of the Child Development Center. AFI 34-249, School-Age = Programs, states the amount and type of food served each age group must = meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Child/Adult Care Food Program = (CACFP). Restrictions are specific in regard to limiting the amount of = sugar, salt, and fat in children?s food. AFI 48-116, Food Safety = Program, is the guidance used by all Air Force food preparation = activities. AFI 34-249, School-Age Program Guidance, states in 12.9.2 = that we are to serve only food prepared at or for the center by an = organization approved to provide food service. The Public Health = Services Flight at Randolph AFB must inspect and approve a contractor?s = facility where food is prepared prior to services being rendered = ensuring USDA requirements are met IAW AFI 34-249, School-Age Program = Guidance , and AFI 48-116, Food Safety Program.
