DESCRIPTION: Please Note: Due to technical difficulties this is = correct version of the original notice. First version was partially = posted. The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of = Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland, intends to = negotiate a sole source commercial item contract for refurbished = telephones with Siemens Information & Communications Networks, Inc., = 6845 Wedgwood Ct., Maple Grove, MN 55311 under the authority of Federal = Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1). This contract will be an = Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract consisting of = a one-year base period and four one-year options to extend the term of = the contract. The minimum guarantee is two hundred (200) units of any = mixture of contract line items (CLINs) during the life of the contract. = The maximum number of units that may be ordered is two thousand (2000) = during the life of the contract. Each CLIN must be delivered to the = destination specified within the order within three (3) workdays after = the Contractor receives an order. Shipping for all items will be FOB = Destination. These CLINs in the resultant contract are already being = used as components of the current telecommunications infrastructure and = PBX operated and owned by NIST at its Gaithersburg, Maryland campus. = NIST Gaithersburg is served by a Siemens HICOM private branch exchange = (PBX). All CLINs in the resultant contract must be certified by = Siemens Business Communication Systems and must be compatible with the = current Siemens HICOM private branch exchange (PBX). The Contractor = will be required to provide, prior to award of the contract, proof of = this testing and certification of compatibility with the existing = Siemens system deployed at NIST Gaithersburg. The cost of the testing = and approval shall be incorporated into the unit price of each item in = the quotation and resultant contract. This testing and certification = by the Contractor is required in order for NIST to receive the level of = service and support that it requires.
