- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a = requirement for a UV Ready Confocal Microscope. Specific requirements = follow: (1) an 8-position fluorescence patented filter turret with = light trap for brilliant fluorescent imaging, a high speed motorized = computer controlled fluorescence shutter, and a 6 position motorized = objective nosepiece. (2) a 100W HBO Fluorescent source with adjustable = illumination output for conventional viewing. (3) A Servo driven = encoded, motorized z axis controller for precise auto driven control = over entire focus range of the microscope in 25nm steps. Both manual = or computer control must be possible without loss of positioning. (4) = Objectives (NA- numerical aperture, WD working Distance), Epiplan Neo = 5X/.15 NA WD 13.7mm, EpiPlan Neo 10X oil/.3 WD 5.7 mm, Epiplan = Neo20x/.5 NA WD2.0mm, LD-Epiplan 50X/.8 WD 7.0mm, EpiPlan Neo 50X/.8 = WD 0.54mm,LD Epiplan 100x/.75 WD 3.0mm, EpiPlan Neo 100X/1.3 Oil = Pol. (5) a Universal specimen holder to accommodate multiple dish and = slide sizes. (6) a Floating Air/Nitrogen Microscope table 30X30, for = vibration free operation of the system. (7) a Scanning Stage, = including software, for tile scans (adjacent field montage), mark, = find, and location saving, for accurate repositioning. (8) the = microscope shall be capable of line scanning at .3msec or 2600 lines = per second. (9) the microscope shall be capable of optical correction = for individual objective lenses via motorized ollimatorOptic, and = include UV optics and UV collimator lens for future upgradablility. = (10) the Visible laser module shall include 3 lasers Ar Ion 30MW with = 458,477,488, and 514 lines, Helium Neon 1MW with 543 , Helium Neon 5MW = with 633. (11) the Image Size should be 2K X 2K with an Image Depth of = 12 bits and 3 fluorescent channel ( 3 Descanned detectors). (12) the = microscope shall be capable of Beam Blanking on fly back for scan for = all laser lines. (13) Individual pinholes for all fluorescence = detection channels and Allows users to alance slice thickness between = channels. (14) the microscope shall be capable of displaying of up to = 8 channels simultaneously, and allow for the collection of any 4 PMT's = simultaneously. (15) Free form Regions of Interest and line scans via = AOTF. (16) Digital Scan Control / MultiTracking -- Patented (pending) = Technique to eliminate crosstalk between channels for dual labeled = specimens. (17) Field Size -- up to 18mm (18) Hardware /firmware for = on-line ratioing (image math) between channels (any two PMT's). = Provide on-line ratioing for dual emission dyes. (19) User accessable = filter slot -- for PMT 1 and 2 (20) the microscope shall have the = ability to rotate scan 360 degrees in 1 degree increments. (21) = Comprehensive Time software -- time series, trigger input/output (8 = lines precisely controlled by software- high degree of = synchronization). (22) 3D ray tracing software, Stereo pairs, = Orthogonal sectioning, Basic image and enhancement 2D measurement = package, Co-localization software, User definable color tables and = convolution filters from within the menu, Image enhancement and = filtering, Image arithmetic's, Time series(On-line and off-line modules = for tracking kinetic data in experimental setups- definable regions of = interest both rectangular and freehand). On and offline histograms of = any definable area, Profile information both and offline display with = any shape lines, automatic reuse of settings to preset system to any = previous conditions for repeatable precise measurement capability. (23) = Comprehensive Topography software for surface analysis and geometric = rendering of collected z stack planes. (24) System shall be fully = upgradable to UV with addition of UV laser module ( 351 and 364 = excitation). -- Delivery is FOB and required 60 days ARO -- NIST = intends to enter into a sole source contract with Carl Zeiss, Inc. One = Zeiss Drive, Thornwood NY, under the authority of 41 USC 253(c )(1) -- = only one responsible source. The Government anticipates the award of a = fixed price purchase order. The Government intends to solicit and = negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.5 -- Test = Program for Certain Commercial Items. -- Interested firms may identify = their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This = notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, = responses received by May 31, 2001, will be considered by the = Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based = upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the = Government. Information received will be considered solely for the = purposes of determining whether to conduct a noncompetitive = procurement. Written responses to this synopsis are required to = contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to = fulfill the requirement. A solicitation will not be issued.=20
