Description

The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) has a requirement for a Contractor having the capabilities and facilities to continue an existing repository for the production, maintenance, and distribution of aneuploid mice. This work is currently being conducted under contract #N01-HD-7-3265 with The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Contractor will be responsible for producing chromosomally unbalanced gametes resulting in trisomic or monosomic embryos with special emphasis on chromosome 16. More specific responsibilities will include breeding various strains of mice to produce trisomic or monosomic embryos with emphasis on chromosome 16; freezing and thawing embryos for reimplanting into pseudo-pregnant mice; maintenance of the mice including those currently in the repository, and distribution of animal models to Researchers.
