Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, to procure in-service sustaining logistics and engineering support for all U.S. Navy (USN) and all Foreign Military Sales (FMS) F/A-18A/B/C/D aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the sole designer, producer and supporter of the F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F aircraft and is the only known source with the knowledge, experience, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to provide in-service support. This support includes the following: supply support requirements and analysis; configuration management/maintenance; engineering change proposal preparation and impact analysis; engineering field studies/investigations; safety maintenance analysis; supplier coordination/obsolescence analysis; technical publications; management of support equipment; spares and repair parts; retrofit support; technical directives and manuals; maintenance plans; training support; contractor validation, verification, and/or installation of engineering changes; facilities requirements document and technical support; integrated logistics support program management; continual assessment of life cycle logistics support; Structural Appraisal of Fatigue Effects software updates; contractor engineering technical services; and all data associated with the above items.
