Description

Background "The Operational Contracting Branch (ASC/PKWOSB) of the Aeronautical Systems Center will issue a solicitation approximately 18 June 2001 for Vehicle Operations and Maintenance. Proposals will be due approximately 45 days after solicitation has been issued. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED. The NAICS code is 561210 (Facilities Support Services), the size standard is $20M. Note: This is a change from the Sources Sought synopsis which listed the NAICS as 48849. Solicitation will be available on the PIXS (Preaward Information Exchange System) website only. No hard copies will be issued. The PIXS website is as follows: http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil. The base period of the contract will run for one year after date of award and will include a 30 day phase-in period. Six (6) one-year options may be exercised. Contractor must be registered in CCR (Central Contractor Registration) prior to award of a contract for all solicitations issued after 31 May 98. The CCR website is as follows: http://www.ccr2000.com. Acquisition is for vehicle operations, a portion of which is handling approximately 1800 dispatches per month and maintenance services for a diversified fleet of approximately 470 vehicles. Mr. Michael Higgins has been appointed as Ombudsman, the purpose of which is to hear the concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations of the potential offerors and communicate them to the appropriate government personnel. Existence of an Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the Contracting Officer. The Ombudsman does not participate in the solicitation preparation, proposal evaluation or source selection process.
