Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division has a requirement for two (2) harmonic absorptive electromagnetic compatibility filters for the SPS-49 radar. These filters shall be designed to be installed in SPS-49 waveguide runs with one-half height WR975 waveguide flanges. The required second harmonic EMC filters will be subjected to stringent Government testing at the Naval Research Laboratory for performance for the following characteristics: Bandpass 850-942 MHz; Insertion Loss maximum 0.2dB; VSWR maximum 1.15.1; Rejected band attenuation 50 dB minimum at 1695-1855 MHz. Power handling capability shall be 500 kW peak and 15 KW average. Material requirements: Filters shall be fabricated from 6061 T6 grade aluminum stock. Soldering requirements: Waveguide flanges shall be attached to the waveguide using aluminum dip brazing IAW MIL-B- 7783 for Brazing of Steels, Copper, Copper Alloys, Nickel Alloys, Aluminum, and Aluminum Alloys. Weight/Cube requirements: The required filters shall not exceed 125 lbs weight and exterior dimensions shall be 6" X 13" and not exceed 36 " in length.
