Description

DESC: The General Services Administration intends to issue a contract to World Wide Technology Inc, 127 Weldon Parkway Saint Louis, Mo. 63043. A justification of other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquistion under the authority of FAR 6.3012-1. These supplies are deemed to be available only from the original source. It is likely that award to any other source would result in an unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. Based on a need to move away from the multiple hardware and software images currently in place and develop one Common Operating Environment (COE). In accordance with the new requirements. Area 7 (Chicago JCK Bldg.) has in place the Catalyst 5509 architecture on all newly renovated floors. This cost-effective architecture delivers the most efficient switching fabric for multicast/multimedia applications at 3.6 Gbps of bandwidth to all floors. It has switching modules that support local switching and deliver added forwarding capacity. Cisco Catalyst Switch 5509 for continue support to complete the 22nd floor renovation project at 230 S. Dearborn Chicago, IL, in order to provide a single, standard communications interface and protocols for the workstations to access local and wide area networks and minicomputers. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, but responses received before June 11, 2001 wiil be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
