Description

The Social Security Administration requires contractor provided = services for the preparation and painting of walls, doors, doorframes, = ceilings and other incidentals in designated areas of the lower level, = mechanical room penthouses (roof), 1st and 2nd floors of the Harold = Washington Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 W. Madison St., in = Chicago, IL. A site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at = 10:00 a.m. at the HWSSC. Offerors planning to attend the site visit = must register before June 25, 2001, by calling Ronald Camacho at = 312-575-5519. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, = materials, tools, equipment and other necessary painting items to = satisfactorily accomplish the required work. The contractor will be = required to prepare all designated surfaces prior to painting to insure = that the paint will properly adhere to the surface. Surface = preparation shall include, but not be limited to: dulling all glossy = surfaces by sanding; filling and sanding smooth all cracks, holes, = blemishes and damaged corners; and priming all designated and prepared = surfaces. The total area to be painted on the lower level, mechanical = room penthouses (roof), 1st and 2nd floors is estimated at = approximately 44,000 square feet. The contractor will be responsible = for verifying all measurements. All work under this contract shall be = accomplished Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 p.m. to = 5:00 a.m., unless otherwise directed by the Project Officer. All work = under this contract shall be completed within 90 calendar days after = commencement. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. = Offers received from sources that are other than small businesses will = not be considered.
