- Description
- The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has a requirement for an all solid-state laser source at 532 nm that is suitable for optical frequency measurements and nonlinear mixing with other single frequency sources. The single-frequency output radiation at 532 nm will be frequency-doubled to 266 nm in an external power-enhancement cavity using the nonlinear crystal BBO, and also will be used in an optical frequency synthesis system that requires sum- and difference-frequency mixing with other spectrally pure sources (eg stable 657 nm diode laser radiation). The output power level at 532 nm must be 5 W or greater. The laser must operate in both a single transverse mode and a single longitudinal mode. The last must be single frequency with a linewidth less tan 5 MHz. The mode must be Gaussian (M squared less than 1.1). The power stability is to be no worse than plus or minus 1 percent after a 30 minute warm-up, and the amplitude noise must be less than 0.05 percent from 10 Hz -- 1 Ghz. The output polarization is to be linear (greater than 100:1). The beam waist should be on the order of 1 mm. Delivery must be 10 weeks ARO or sooner. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Under 100K). All specifications are addressed in this synopsis. Technical merit as well as price will be used to evaluate offers. As technical merit becomes more equal, price becomes the greater factor. When submitting a quote, please include business size, Federal Tax ID number, and Dun and Bradstreet number. Terms and Conditions and agency level protest procedures can be found on web site http: www.doc.gov/oam/conops/#REFERENCE. Hard copy in full text available from office address and phone number listed in notice. Technical contact is Leo Hollberg, 303-497-5770. Anticipated award date will be June 26, 2001.
