Description
This is not a solicitation for bids/proposals but an announcement for SBA 8(a) construction contractors certified through the Small Business Administration in Region VI (Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas). The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, wishes to obtain information from participating 8(a) construction contractors with sufficient bonding capacity and construction experience who may be interested in constructing a new Command and Control Facility at Fort Hood, Texas. Work involves the construction of a headquarters fire station. Work to include 5 bay apparatus room, storage for bunker gear, storage for hazardous material absorbents, commercial wash room, breathing air fill station, room for computer stations in training room and the inspectors area, 11 dorm rooms, administrative area, workroom, physical training room, and emergency power. Also construct a standard-design maintenance facility to include vehicle maintenance shops, schedule maintenance bays, storage areas, and hardstand. Provide elevator for the handicapped. Support facilities include water, sewer, gas, electric, access drives, POV parking, safety traffic signals, fire protection and alarm systems, security fencing with clear zone and gates, security lighting, storm drainage, information systems, brushless vehicle wash and site improvements. Heating will be accomplished by infrared unit heaters in maintenance bays, and self-contained gas-fired units. Access for the handicapped will be provided. Air conditioning will be accomplished by self-contained systems. This construction project is estimated to be approximately $13,600,000.00. Interested parties shall respond to this notice by submitting an e-mail to the contract specialist.
