Description

This is a Notice of Intent from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD to contract on an other than full and open competition basis with European Aerospace Defense and Space (EADS) Company. This research and development Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract will provide for the planning of a proposed flight test and demonstration program of the Industria de Turbo Propulsores, S.A. (ITP) thrust vectoring nozzle mounted on an EJ200 engine in the X-31 aircraft at Patuxent River, Maryland. The X-31 is a technology demonstration aircraft. BOEING and its German partner, EADS designed, developed, and manufactured the X-31 aircraft. They are also the prime contractor for the VECTOR Program effort currently being performed at Patuxent River, Maryland. The VECTOR Program is conducting technology demonstrations on the X-31 aircraft. No RFP will be issued on the basis of this Notice of Intent.
