Description

The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Georgia Institute of Technology to perform semi-continuous (15-minute averages) measurements of ambient aerosol speciation for a period of one month (July 1 to July 31, 2001). Measurements will be made with the particle into liquid (PILS/IC) system developed by Georgia Institute of Technology at the NOAA/AIRMoN monitoring site at Oak Ridge Tennessee. Aerosol speciation will include: sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, and calcium. The performance of this instrument will be compared to and evaluated against the filter pack systems currently used at the AIRMoN sites and the results reported in the peer-reviewed literature. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Under 100K). This synopsis is issued for information purposes only. No competitive solicitation is planned..
