Air Force Space Command 2001 Industry Days is to be held 25-26 July 2001 at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs CO. The event is supported by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association. The format this year has been changed to allow increased interchange between the Government and contracting communities on important topics to both AFSPC and Industry. Day 1 will feature briefings to Industry by AFSPC and other commands focusing on future programs, contractng opportunities, and operational/technical needs. Day 2 will afford participants the opportunity to share ideas on challenging topics in a workshop environment, each led by senior AFSPC and Industry co-chairs and followed by outbriefs to Lt Gen DeKok and staff. Sessions and tentative topics include: Space Control -- Defensive counterspace and Offensive Counterspace. Force Applications -- Minuteman IV and Prompt Global Strike. Space Support -- Satllite Command & Control and Space Ranges. Force Enhancement -- Multi-Theater Target Tracking and Time Critical Targeting. Mission Support -- Shortage of Bandwidth, Strategies for Effective Leveraging of Commercial Assets and Space Logistics. Acquisition/Contracting: ID/IQ contracts, shorter acquisition cycles, source selection evaluation criteria and proposal format -- oral/video vs written. Cost for this informative event will be $220.00 for industry and $40.00 for Government participants. If you wish to attend only the workshops, the price is $40.00 for Industry and $10.00 for Government. Registration packages will be mailed by mid Jun 2001 -- early registration is encouraged as this event sells out early. The annual Industry Days Golf Tournment will be hosted by NDIA at the Peterson AFB Silver Spruce Golf Course on the day preceding the conference, Tuesday 24 Jul 01.
