Description

Naval Air Warfare Center (Aircraft Division) Patuxent River, MD, Code 4.6.2.2, is seeking information from potential sources regarding industry technologies applicable to improving hardware as part of the Tri-Service Safety Belt Program. The U.S. Navy wishes to acquire currently military qualified hardware that focuses on the following major areas: (1) One-handed operation with quick releasing mechanism. (2) Breaking load of 6,000 lbs. or higher (3) Corrosion resistant. (4) Capable of accommodating 1.75 inch wide harness webbing. (5) Capable of incorporating water divestment technology. (6) Subdued, non-reflective color. (7) Affordable. The Crashworthy Systems Team is seeking innovative solutions to address these requirements. Respondents must clarify if their firm can currently provide items that meet the Crashworthy Systems Team's needs. Samples and 3-D models are also encouraged. Proprietary information MUST be marked as such, on a page-by-page basis. This Request For Information (RFI) does not, in anyway constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) and as such, is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information / items solicited. Data, Samples, and 3-D models will not be returned. To be of maximum benefit to the program, responses must be received by July 06, 2001.
