Description

Notice of proposed contract action and presolicitation notice. Sealed bids for award of firm-fixed price construction contract for the replacement of emergency generator and replacement of four automatic transfer switches with new equipment and all other associated work, as required by drawings and specifications for the VA Medical Center, Louisville, Kentucky. Work includes, but not limited to demolition, mechanical, electrical, equipment, and provision of temporary emergency generator. Work will be phased and will involve some work on weekends and other than normal working hours. Cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Completion time is 126 calendar days from the notice to proceed. The proposed procurement herein is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Competitiveness Demonstration Program (P.L. 100-656). The NAICS and small business size is 235310 -- 7 Million. Requests for bid packages must be in writing (no telephone requests will be accepted) and accompanied by a non-refundable $50.00 check, or money order. Make check or money order payable to: "VA Medical Center, #603" and forward to attention of this contracting officer at the address above. Please include complete company name, address, phone and fax number, point of contact for the company and IFB Number. Bid packages will be available on or about June 26, 2001 with a bid opening date on August 2, 2001 at 3:00PM, local time, eastern time zone. A pre-bid conference is scheduled on July 12, 2001 at 3:00 p.m., in T-2, Room 123b, (Bid Opening Room) at VA Medical Center, 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is strongly recommended, but is not mandatory. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
