- Description
- The Agency for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) through the Program Support Center, General Acquisition Branch, plans to award a 12 month sole source simplified acquisition to the University of Chicago. Anticipated date of award is July 15, 2001. The Contractor shall be responsible for but not limited to the following: The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel to perform the work set forth in the tasks listed below. All work under this project shall be monitored by the Government Project Officer. All reports, produced under this project shall be the property of the Federal government, which includes, among other operating agencies, the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA or CMHS may utilize, print, or disseminate (including posting of said documents on the SAMHSA World Wide Web site) such material without further charge. The Contractor shall provide consultation to CMHS, via meetings and telephone calls, on the content and process of various aspects of the implementation of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. Consultation shall include technical advise regard CMHS-funded suicide prevention activities. The contractor shall come to Rockville, MD, to meet at the Parklawn Building a maximum of three times over the course of the contract (maximum 2-day meetings and shall participate in weekly one-hour conference calls over the course of the contract). The contractor shall provide written summary and recommendations related to the implementation tasks over the course of the contract as requested by the Project Officer. The Contractor shall assist in the "activities development phase" of the NSSP. This phase consists of soliciting the submission of potential activities for each objective in the plan from national private and non-private stakeholders. Contractor shall assist by participating in meetings and telephone calls in which the development process is considered and preparing materials that may be required in realizing the goals of the process. The Contractor shall assist in the conceptualization and scope of work for a public private partnership coordinating body and assist in the development of policies/procedures to guide the operation and activities of the proposed group. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
