- Description
- The Social Security Administration requires contract services of BC/BE Internists, Family Practitioners or Generalists in Internal Medicine to serve as Regional Medical Consultants needed to review medical claims under the Title II and Title XVI disability programs of the Social Security Administration. The procurement will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The period of performance shall be from on or about August 1, 2001 through March 31, 2002 with provisions for four one-year option years. Services involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims. Performance of services shall be in government space in the Boston area. Some travel may be required and there is no patient contact. Offerors must have (1) a valid license to practice medicine in the U.S., and (2) be available for onsite work a minimum of 15 hours per week between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. RMCs assist in identifying medical policy and trends and train disability personnel at both the Federal and state level. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. RFQ is scheduled to be released on or about June 26, 2001 with quotes due July 18, 2001. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored. This requirement is a 100% small business set-aside. Quotes from OTHER than a small business will be deemed unacceptable and given no further consideration. The NAICS code for the acquisition is 621111 and size standard is $5.0 million.
