- Project No. 662-319 Project Title: Seismic Corrections Building 6 Services of an A/E firm to prepare design development drawings, construction documents, and construction period services for seismic corrections Building 6 project. The scope of work includes field investigations, verify existing drawings, meeting with medical center staff, prepare design development drawings, construction documents including phasing schedule and provide construction support services as necessary to upgrade the building in compliance with the VA's seismic requirements, UBC and California Title 24. Building 6 is a "Tee" shaped reinforced concrete structure constructed in 1934. This building houses a mixed of administrative and research functions including medical library, IRMS, Fiscal and A&MM Services, Anesthesiology Administration, research offices and wet labs. This building is seismically deficient, does not meet the requirements of VA seismic criteria (immediate occupancy). Building 6 contains significant quantities of hollow clay tile interior partition with no reinforcement and no adequate shear strength to meet current seismic codes. This building also contains asbestos. This is a four story building, 52,000 gross square feet. Construction price range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. See Note 24.
