Description

This requirement is in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA for the upgrade of Harnischfeger Corporation crane number 9468 (PSNS #103159). The crane is a 75/10 ton OET and is located in the high bay of Bldg 431, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA. All work shall be performed with the crane in place. The upgrade of the crane is intended to provide variable speed control on all functions to match the controls on the other crane on the same runway rail system. These two cranes perform intricate 2 crane lifts. The other crane was previously upgraded with step-less controls. The auxiliary hoist requires redesign in that it has not operated correctly since a previous upgrade performed in the 1970's. The specification requires two work steps, a design phase and a production phase. Crane upgrade to be completed on or before 31 Sep 2002. This requirement will be procured under commercial, simplified acquisition procedures utilizing best value evaluation of offers. This procurement is a full and open competitive, unrestricted requirement. When the solicitation is available for download, prospective offerors should carefully review the solicitation posted at http://www.neco.navy.mil/ (then "Business Opportunities) (then search using the solicitation number N0040601T0965, all are "zeros" not the letter "oh"). It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available for download after 11 Jul 01. After downloading the solicitation, firms interested in submitting quotes must: (1) complete the pricing, (2) complete all representations and certifications found in the solicitation, (3) manufacturer information of proposed items and (4) ensure current registration in the DoD Central Contractor Registration database (http://www.ccr.2000.com/).
