Description

The Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center is seeking prospective sources for Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) which is a tactical suite of equipment, which provides status assessment, maintenance control, and testing functions for the AN/SPY-1 radar, Command & Decision, Weapon Control System, Fire Control System, and AEGIS Combat Trainer system elements onboard CG 47 AEGIS Cruiser and DDG 51 AEGIS Destroyer class ships. ORTS assists the AEGIS elements in their fault detection processes, provides fault isolation and the equipment status evaluation needed to attain the required level of system effectiveness, availability, and operational readiness for the AEGIS Combat System. The ORTS consists of 5 electronic racks of equipment consisting of routers, processors, display, various system interfaces, and human machine interfaces. Workstation terminology is used to describe the human machine interface component items. However, the ORTS suite of equipment as described above does not involve information technology functions of an administrative nature. The ORTS is a mission critical tactical suite used for combat systems control.
