Description
The Directorate of Contracting, Naval Air Warfare Center Training systems Division (NAWCTSD) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to industry for the refurbishment of the AH-1W WST (Device 2F136) Visual Projection System and spare parts and establishment of a future repair source for a one year period. The Visual Projection System is defined as an Evans&Sutherland AH-1W ESIG-1000 display system, currently driven by an ESIG-4530 image generator, also from Evans &Sutherland. There are two AH-1W WSTs, located at MCASs New River, NC and Camp Pendleton, CA. The Visual Projection System consists of two separate domes (mounted on a motion platform), each dome with three projectors. Each projector has three nine inch cathode ray tubes (red, green, blue), configured in a split head configuration. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. It is neither a Request for Proposal, nor solicitation, nor an indication that NAWCTSD will contract for these items. NAWCTSD will not pay for information received in response to this RFI. The objective of this RFI is to obtain market research data to assist NAWCTSD in developing its Statement of Work (SOW) or Statement of Objectives (SOO). Interested parties shall have demonstrated and proven experience in refurbishment and maintenance of 10+ year old commercial electronics. Refurbishment and repairs should be the same form/fit/function as the existing components with minimal weight change and return the components to a "like new" condition with no discernable degradation of performance from a new unit. All correspondence relating to this matter should be e-mailed to Rigalicl@navair.navy.mil not later than 1730, 15 July 01. Responses will be treated as proprietary.
