Description

The resulting contract from this solicitation will be a single award firm fixed-price requirements contract. The project will consist of (A) providing all plant, material and labor to replace existing steam air handling units with hot water air handling units in both the fitness room and swimming pool area. This includes removal of existing steam air handling units and steam lines, and providing new hot water handlers, steam/hot water converter, hot and chilled water lines, air cooled chiller, and associated ductwork, controls, electric wiring, and plumbing. The project is located at the Bellamy Fitness Center, building 7709, Ellsworth AFB and (B) providing all plant, material and labor to install 21 government furnished industrial size furnaces (valued at approximately $325,000) in 6 aircraft hangers and purchasing and installing one industrial size furnace in one additional aircraft hanger. Furnaces are 1.8 and 2.5 million BTU/hr input. Project includes removing existing furnaces and associated ductwork and installing new furnace, ductwork, controls, electric wiring, gas piping and chimney connection. The project is located at various locations, to include hazardous noise areas within the restricted flight line area at Ellsworth AFB. This is an unrestricted acquisition. Documents will not be available via other means. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 23511. The size standard is $11,500,000.00. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. An offer guarantee is required in the amount of 20%. A single award will be made. Past performance is considered more important than price. A pre-proposal conference and site visit is tentatively scheduled for 31 July 01 at 9:00 A. M. local time. Location for the pre-proposal conference is the 28th Contracting Squadron at 1000 Ellsworth Street, Ellsworth AFB, S.D. This project is presently unfunded and will only be awarded if funds do become available.
