- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI) and no contract will be awarded pursuant to this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately issue a RFP or contract. There is no solicitation document associated with this announcement. The Government invites comments and interested parties to submit their indication of interest along with any document they deemed necessary. The Government will not reimburse providers for submitting information in response to this RFI. The Corona Division, Naval Surface Weapons Center, Corona is seeking potential sources for an Extended Wattmeter Automated Calibration System (EWACS) to replace the current system at the Marine Corps Calibration Facilities for High Output RF Calibration. To aid in the replacement of spare/repair parts and logistics maintenance, Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) items/systems are preferred. The minimum requirements are as follow: Frequency -- Range: 20-400 MHz, Accuracy: +/- 0.001%, Resolution: 10 Hz; Output Power -- Range: 2-400 MHz @ 100 Watts, 2-30 MHz @ 1000 Watts, Level Resolution: 0.01 dB, Harmonics: < -50 dBc, Test Port VSWR: </=1.05:1; Power Measurement -- Uncertainty: +/-2%; VSWR Measurement -- Range: 2-400 MHz, VSWR >/=1.05:1, Uncertainty: +/-0.015 Reflection Coefficient; General -- Temperature Range: 10-30Degrees Celsius, Humidity Range: 20%-75%, Size: 77" X 22" X 32" (H X W X D), Power: 108-126 Vac, 50-60 Hz +/-2%, 3 phase, 30 A per phase, Weight: 800 lbs. Other features desired: 1) System can be controlled by a controller, such as a portable or desktop computer for a semi-automated system that would control frequency and power, 2) Have RF filters that are integrated into the system, rather than manual high/lowpass filters. Other option: Based on the ability to fulfill the EWACS minimum requirements, using a manual/non-automated method comprised of RF power amplifiers, RF coupler/Thermister mounts, required to work with the H/P 432A Power Meter. Low Pass filters are also required to clean up the first harmonics at a 50db level necessary to read a clean signal on the 432A Power meter. All interested parties who can provide an EWACS that meets the above performance criteria should, at a minimum, submit the following information: (1) An EWACS description and performance data addressing the desired capabilities; (2) Specification sheets, including photographs, of the proposed equipment; (3) Facilities and utilities requirements the proposed system will require to operate; (4) A concise, columnar listing of all items proposed, including part numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and price; and (5) Any other technical information you believe to be important, including achievable accuracies, other locations already using your technology, and measurement accuracies they are able to achieve. Proprietary information must be marked as such, on a page-by-page basis. Data or samples provided will not be returned. Responses to this RFI must be received in writing no later than COB Pacific Standard Time on 8/27/2001. The information shall be submitted to FISC Seal Beach Detachment, Large Contracts, Code 2804, Attn: Gretchen Yeh, 800 Seal Beach Blvd, Bldg 239, Seal Beach, CA 90740-5000 or e-mail to yeh.gretchen@sbeach.navy.mil.
