Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to negotiate solely with Unicom Systems, Inc., located at Unicom Plaza, Suite 310, 15535 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345, to obtain software maintenance support of the following proprietary service: INFOPAC-TAPESAVER Site License, installed on System 71 (Hitachi Skyline 827) located at the National Computer Center (SSA). This proprietary software is a data set consolidation tool that optimizes utilization of tapes and tape devices by eliminating wasted space, freeing up tape cartridges and reducing operator intervention. Unicom Systems, Inc., is the only known source, which can provide the required services. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this publication. If an acceptable response is not received by COB July 5, 2001,an order will be issued to Unicom Systems, Inc. for the continuation of software maintenance support. Respondents should refer to CS-TAPESAVER.
