Description

Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking architectural and engineering (A & E) sources for professional technical services to assist in-house DOT staff in the design, construction, and move phases of the new DOT headquarters building project. The A & E firm will be required to serve as the tenant representative in all post lease acquisition phases of the project. In close coordination with the DOT Transportation Administrative Service Center Office of Space Management, the contractor will oversee, manage, and provide technical services required to relocate and consolidate staff, resources and equipment associated with the DOT Headquarters operations into a new or renovated facility located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The contractor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: management of post-award lease documentation, managing issues with developer, development of a Project Master Schedule (which includes, decision making processes, DOT approvals, and contractor deliverables), detailed project planning and space planning, development of DOT's business case (justification) to Congress for additional space (as needed), coordination and implementation of DOT's Operational Improvement Initiatives, development of interior design drawings and specifications, review and monitor construction documents and activities of the base building and tenant spaces to ensure consistency and compliance, furniture analysis and development of design guidelines and product specifications, data/telecommunications analysis and development of specifications, analysis and design of entire interior including installation of furniture and equipment, relocation coordination and services and post-occupancy services.
