- Description
- The contracting office for TRICARE Region 15, Latin America and Canada, Fort Gordon, GA intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with International SOS, Inc. of Trevose, PA for non-personal services to operate a comprehensive managed health care system for DoD TRICARE Region 13, CENTCOM Area of Responsibility, and TRICARE Region 15, Latin America and Canada. The managed care system includes a credentialed network (equivalent to U.S. standards where possible) for in-patient and out-patient health services, claims processing and payments that provide no out-of- pocket expenses for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries (except out-patient pharmaceuticals and family member dental care), an effective referral/authorization process, coordination of patient movement with military transportation officials and preventative health services. All areas with U.S. military presence in Region15 are included except those with Military Treatment Facility support (currently Puerto Rico, Guantanamo Bay Cuba and Canada). The areas of Region 13, CENTCOM Area of Responsibility, include Egypt, Kenya, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. The scope of health care includes medical, dental, and other health care services equivalent to DoD TRICARE program, 24/7 call/help-line (toll free), advisory assistance for eligible non-enrolled beneficiaries, case/utilization management programs and urgent/emergency care for active duty military temporarily in the area. The contractor will be expected to work in close coordination with responsible DoD officials and have the capability to respond to all treatment eventualities in a medically sound /fiscally prudent manner. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive proposals, however, responses received from responsible sources within fifteen days of this notice will be evaluated.
