- Description
- The Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation and Principal Deputy Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness are jointly conducting the Twelfth Common Test and Training Range Architecture (CTTRA) Workshop from 31 July-3 August 2001 at the Wyndam Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO. There will be two Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP) funded programs discussed at this Workshop; Foundation Initiative 2010 and the Enhanced Range Applications Program (EnRAP). EnRAP is a new start project and is currently in a requirements definition phase. EnRAP is a planned upgrade to the existing Advanced Range Data System (ARDS), which is used extensively at DoD's major aircraft and weapons test ranges. EnRAP will provide a new high capacity data link that is planned to be also used in support of the requirements of Multi-Service Target Control System (MSTCS). The data link will provide increased data transmission capacity and will employ a spectrum efficient modulation scheme. The data link standard developed by the Family of Interoperable Transceivers (FIT) Program may be selected for use by EnRAP. EnRAP will also provide a significantly improved Global Positioning System (GPS) based time-space-position information (TSPI) capability. In addition, EnRAP will attempt to provide the DoD test community with significantly smaller instrumentation components that can be installed in two configurations: pod mounted and internal to the aircraft on a standard plate. Those companies and organizations that are familiar with the existing ARDS equipment or are interested in the EnRAP project are encouraged to participate in this three day workshop. Although information on the ARDS and EnRAP system will be provided, participants in the workshop process are expected to have direct knowledge of these types of systems and be prepared to provide relevant comments on requirements and potential solutions. There will be a $30 administrative fee (cash or check) collected at the registration desk to cover workshop costs. Further information about this workshop (including hotel reservation information) is available at http://www.dote.osd.mil/rr/cttra.html. Prospective attendees are requested to submit name, company name, position title, address, phone, fax and e-mail, and a brief summary of the company area(s) of expertise to Eileen Redd, CTEIP Program Office, NLT 6 July 2001, Phone: 703-578-8222 Fax 703-578-0527 E-mail: Eileen.Redd@osd.mil. Participation in this workshop by companies, organizations, and individuals is strictly voluntary and does not in any way suggest, imply, or impose a U.S. Government obligation or guarantee for future contractual related services, agreements, or other considerations with regards to the Enhanced Range Applications Program, Foundation Initiative 2010, or any other CTEIP funded programs.
