Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of a Model J20I-BL-106C Fiber coupled diode-pumped, 1064nm solid state laser system. Output power of greater than 4W cw. Utilizing fully air cooled rack mount power supply, 1 each. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 with Spectra-Physics, Mountain View, CA 94039-7013 as the OEM since the item is a component and/or direct replacement part of a Spectra Physics Laser system. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications and capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
