Description

Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI intends to acquire from Lighthouse Technology on a sole source basis the following items: Item (1) Raid Array Chassis per RAID Array Chassis Specifications (as follows), quantity (1) each; 4U 19" Rackmount Chassis, Dual Active-Active High Performance RAID Controllers with LCD Front Panels, Hot Swap Removable, Housing for ten (10) LVD full or half height high performance drives per unit (Unit furnished with full compliment of drive canisters), totally Redundant, Fault Tolerant, Cableless Chassis. 8 Separate Channels Of RAID With No Internal LVD Cables, External Interface -- VHDCI Redundant hot swap removable power supplies (2N/N+1), Min of 300 Watts each, Redundant hot swap removable fan system, Hot swap removable drive canisters, Redundant, auto fail-over, fail-back Enclosure Management Units hot-swap removable with GUI port, Intelligent Drive Canister (each drive canister provides Alpha Numeric Display Scrolls English text messages, Displays messages sent to it from remote GUI, Temperature Sensor, 3 Icons monitor -- Drive Connected, Temperature, Safe to Remove. 2 pushbuttons -- Drive disconnect request, connect request, Display SCSI ID), Drive Protection -- Canister locks drives down in chassis under pressure to dampen Rotational Vibration extending drive life, RAID Levels 0,1,3,5 w/Auto Rebuild, Up To 4 Host Channels, Up To 6 Drive Channels, Externally Configured, Supplied with Windows NT Graphical User Interface enclosure management SW, Host Independent -- Requires no Operating System or Device Driver modifications, SNMP support, System Panel on each chassis (8-character Alpha Numeric Display module with alarm, System Panel Monitors -- Fans, Drive Temperature, Power Supplies, Drive Canister Insert, Locked down, Drive Removed, Preconfigures SCSI IDs, and Internal System Operations), No Single Point of Failure, All Systems Redundant and Hot Swap Removable, Cooling of Active Drives -- Item (2) Seagate 180 GB LVD SCSI Disk Drives integrated into item 1 qty 8 ea. This is a sole source acquisition as authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Only One Responsible Source. Lighthouse Technology's RAID Chassis was the only equipment that met all of NUWCs requirements. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items will be utilized. Delivery F.O.B. Destination, Newport, R 3 weeks after contract award. NAICS CODE 443120, 500 employees. Estimated RFQ release date is JULY 5, 2001.
