Description

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on behalf of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) plans to award a purchase order to the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) to provide support for the FMCSA 2001 Bus Fleet and Truck Fleet Safety Surveys. Roadside inspections of buses and trucks and their drivers will be conducted throughout the country by CVSA Certified Inspectors. CVSA work will include coordination, deployment assistance, and data collection monitoring. The CVSA is an organization of Federal, State and provincial government agencies and representatives from private industry. The CVSA is the only known national organization having close, day-to-day, working relationships with every State agency and certified inspectors involved in the roadside enforcement of commercial motor vehicle and driver safety regulations. Therefore, they are the only known source that can provide this service. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about July 23, 2001.=20
