Description

Sale of selected pine and hardwood timber: For harvesting of pine trees in Records Units #55 and #57. The sale consists of approximately 5,352 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 1,214,209 board feet Doyle Scale and 1,460 pine pulpwood trees containing an estimated 110 cords. This sale also includes approximately 1,310 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 189,576 board feet Doyle Scale and 1,741 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 196 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 232 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, and Louisiana. Cutting to begin no later than 180 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. FOR THE PERSONAL SAFETY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS EMPLOYEES, THERE WILL BE NO TIMBER HARVESTING OPERATIONS PREMITTED DURING THE ANNUAL GUN DEER HUNTING SEASON; THE ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE SETS THE DATES. (The 25-day gun deer season begins in October and ends in January. The exact dates will be provided when available.) Anticipated issue date is 27 July 2001; anticipated opening date of the solicitation is=20 27 September 2001. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bids from all responsible sources. The solicitation will be issued on the worldwide web and can be founded at the following website: www.eps.gov.
