Description

Amendment Number One (1) to SSA-RFQ-01-0282 The purpose of this amendment is to respond to vendor inquiries and also to schedule a site visit of the area where the air filtration equipment is to be installed. 1. Vendor Inquiries: Q.1. For the subject project, are you seeking a method filtering the air or a method of reducing airborne contaminants? A.1. Both. Q.2. Regarding the 2 air cleaners for the printing configuration equipment -- are you looking for air cleaners that are specifically manufactured to match with your roll paper feeding through them, or are we to fabricate duct hoods connected to our air cleaners? A.2. This source management requirement is for a vacuuming method where the roll paper is unwound through a device that removes and filters contaminants such as paper dust, chads, static electricity, etc., from the paper prior to it entering the OCE' printer. The filtering devices should not cause paper drag or any other interference that would diminish the performance of the unwinder or paper tension. A device of this type would need a hood, or equivalent capturing method, to vacuum and extract contaminants away from the paper path. A site visit is scheduled for 8:00 a.m., local prevailing time on Thursday, July 12, 2001. If you plan to attend the site visit, please contact Mr. Stephen Slaughter at (410) 965-9533 no later than 3:30 p.m., local prevailing time on Wednesday, July 11, 2001. All prospective quoters are urged to attend the site visit to view the area where the air filtration devices are to be installed and in no case shall failure to attend the site visit result in a claim being filed against the Government by the quoter. All interested parties shall meet in the lobby of the SSA NCC Building, 6201 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235-6201. The site visit will not be re-scheduled under any circumstances. Accordingly, the closing date and closing time of the solicitation remains unchanged.
