Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice for 8(a) competition. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will ONLY be issued and available electronically at http://www.fedbizops.gov. Accordingly, no telephone, fax or email will be accepted. Since the RFP will only be available electronically, it will be the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the Federal Business Opportunities website for any amendments. The ESTIMATED release date of the RFP is early August 2001. The Geotechnical Engineering Research Program of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) anticipates awarding a contract to obtain laboratory and technical support services. The contractor shall provide qualified engineers, scientists, geotechnical computer specialists, technicians, equipment operators and laborers as needed to conduct research studies for the Geotechnology team at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC). These individuals shall assist FHWA personnel in completing specified technical tasks such as literature searches, technology evaluations, computer aided design projects, plus operating and maintaining the geotechnical and administrative support to accomplish the contract objectives. The estimated cost of this requirement is 3.1 million dollars.=20
