Description

Description of Work: Contract consists of maintenance dredging of the Inland Waterway between Rehoboth Bay and Delaware Bay. Dredging will be performed to a depth of 10' plus 1' allowable over depth for the entire project with no side and end slopes (box cut). Bucket Dredging (bucket, drag or dipper) and Hopper Dredging will not be permitted for this contract. Material dredging from the Roosevelt Inlet project will be deposited along the Lewes Beach disposal area. Government furnished L&R Canal disposal area will be utilized for material removed from the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal. Solicitation documents will be furnished on CD-ROM only on or about July 30, 2001; hard copies will not be available. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after issue date of the solicitation; however the official media of distribution for this solicitation is the CD-ROM". One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each bidder at no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM must be made by registering on the Internet. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. If any amendments are issued under this Solicitation which do not have drawings, contractors will be required to download them from the website. If any information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving the solicitation and notices of amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will be opened on or about August 29, 2001 at 11:00 am. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. The NAICS Code is 234990 with a size standard of $17.0 million. The estimated range of the project is $500,000 to $1,000,000 and bonding is required. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Liquidated damages will be specified. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. All contractors must be registered in the DoD's Central Contract Register before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. Instructions will be included in the Solicitation*****.
