Description

The project work site is the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Training Center (ATC), 8501 Tanner Williams Road, Mobile, Alabama. The project work consists of removal of existing roofing system which consists of an EPDM membrane over insulation; over re-roof board; over built-up roof; over rigid insulation; on metal decking. Removal of existing cants, base flashing, edge flashing, built-in gutter lining and flashing at roof penetrations. Install new modified bitumen roofing system over new insulation on existing steel roof deck. Install new cants, base flashing, edge flashing, metal built-in gutter and flashing at roof penetrations. Install cement board finish at walls of hanger door enclosure and parachute tower above roof. The amount of work in this project is approximately 100 squares 26 feet above grade and 67 squares 15 feet above grade; four squares 32 feet above grade, and two squares 40 feet above grade. Project is located at Building S05, Hangar Lean-To-"A", at the Aviation Training Center Mobile, Alabama. The estimated price range of the complete project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000,00. This action is being considered for 100 percent HUBZone set-aside. Interested HUBZone businesses should indicate their interest to the Contracting Officer in writing as early as possible to be received no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice. As a minimum, the following information is required: (a) a copy of the certificate issued by the SBA of your qualifications as a HUBZone concern, (b) a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for this solicitation as a prime contractor, (c) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact and telephone numbers, and (d) provide evidence of bonding capability to the maximum magnitude of the project, to include both single and aggregate totals. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. If adequate interest is not received from HUBZone concerns by close of business 15 calendar days from the date of this notice, this solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program without further notice. Therefore, replies are requested from large and small businesses, as well as from HUBZone concerns. Tentative dates are as follows: Solicitation documents issued July 27, 2001; Bid opening date August 28, 2001, 2:00 pm EST. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 235610, Roofing, Siding, and Sheet Metal Contractors with size standard of $11.5 million. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required.
