- Description
- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center intends to issue a solicitation on a competitive basis for the acquisition of two (2) Unfired Pressure Vessels with options for an additional one (1), two (2) or three (3) if the options are exercised. The vessel(s) shall be constructed in accordance with ASME BPVC SEC VIII D1 and as specified below. Each vessel(s) shall be registered with NBBI and the board registration number marked on each vessel(s). An overview of the specifications are as follows: (1) The dimensions of the vessel(s) shall be approximately one foot-eight inch diameter by fourteen feet -- two inches long (1' X 8" X 14'-2"). The vessel shall be cylindrical in shape with two hemisphere ends. Vessel(s) shall have: one 1-1/2" socket weld connection at the top of the flask; one 1" socket weld connection at the bottom of the flask; and two 3/4" NPT female connections for test and gauge in the top hemisphere of the flask. Each shall be provided with a 3/4" plug rated for 5,000 psi working pressure. The vessel(s) shall be shipped plugged and charged with nitrogen. Shop drawings of the vessel(s) and support racks shall be submitted for approval prior to fabrication. Vessel(s) shall come complete with design drawings and engineering design data stamped by a registered professional engineer. Design data shall include calculations for wall thickness, principle stresses, stress concentrations, corrosion allowance, burst strenght, and factor of safety. Provide support racks for installation in a vertical position. The receivers shall incorporate individual base rings and floor brackets for vertical mounting. The vessel(s) shall come complete with a "Certificate of Shop Compliance" and "Certificate of Shop Inspection". The Government intends to award a single contract on a Firm Fixed Price Contract basis using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A Request for Quote will be released on or about 3 Aug 01. Delivery is required to be F.O.B. Destination at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, Rhode Island within 90 days after contract award. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 332999; 500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Government. Award is expected on or about 7 September 01. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
